1h of Hip Hop with Cypress Moreno from the USA.
Broadcasted Wednesday at 7am, 3pm and 11pm LA time.
Raised in the McArthur park area of Los Angeles, California, Cypress Moreno (named after Cypress Hill) grew up around music. Cypress grew up listening to the likes of NWA, 50 Cent, The Game, and Eminem, amongst many more influences by his father. Cypress later discovered the radio, and was heavily influenced by it from an early age. Growing up, Cypress would often listen to Southern California hip-hop stations, including 105.9, 100.3 the beat, and 93.5 kday.
However, it wasn’t until his senior year of high school that Cypress decided to commit his life to music. At the age of 18, he began to perform at nightclubs in Hollywood, and began experiencing immediate success. As he gained experience, he learned the art of mixing, producing, and combining tracks. His success led him to opportunities to do club shows and festivals with major artists. Recently, Cypress opened up the Camp Stage at Tyler The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw. Currently, Cypress is focusing on his production and DJing alongside some of LA’s best rising artists. Cypress credits his experience working as a DJ in clubs as a transition into radio. Most recently, he produced two tracks on G Perico’s ‘Shit Don’t Stop’ album.
