ABOUT DJ REVOLUTION:
As one of the most well known and respected Hip Hop DJs across the globe, DJ Revolution still holds down the two Technics on the longest running commercial hip hop show in history. The world renowned and now legendary “Wake Up Show” with hosts Sway (shade45/MTV) and King Tech, is an internationally syndicated hip hop mix show that has helped launch the careers of some of the biggest and brightest. Eminem, Xzbit, Common, and countless others. The show even experienced a brief run as a series on MTV, adding visual images and faces to the world famous radio trio. In January 2013 The Wake Up Show jumped to Eminem’s SHADE45 channel on Sirius XM receiving widespread acclaim by the fans and industry alike.
However, exposing quality hip hop to millions of people while displaying his unquestionable skill is just part of DJ Revolution’s resume. His fans, and a brand new audience would have seen him showcase his talents as a contestant on the worlds first DJ reality competition show “Master of the Mix” which aired on BET and sister station CENTRIC in late 2010 and was sponsored by Vodka giant Smirnoff. Season 2 aired with Revolution returning as a celebrity judge alongside Kid Capri and the other competitors. He had the chance to perform at the 2011 BET Awards on stage with Big Boi, Yellawolf and several other high profile DJs.
Revolution has also taken his skills to the far corners of the world and ripped clubs all over Europe, Asia and Australia/New Zealand. This of course includes traveling the US and Canada to spin with the likes of the legendary Jazzy Jeff, DJ Premier and Maseo from De La Soul and headline clubs himself. Everything from the most exclusive clubs in Paris, Rome, Stockholm, Rio Dejaniero and NY to some of the more trendy, eclectic parties like the famed “Do-Over” in Los Angeles. Blending current and classic Hip H op with the new styles of music demanded by crowds of all types makes him one of the most skilled and versatile DJ’s in the business. He has had numerous press features including The Source, The Source France, XXL, Fader, Vibe, Allhiphop.com, HipHopdx, Cratekingz.com XLR8R, Mass Appeal Urb, Blast, Juice, and many other recognized publications. Captions, interviews and miscellaneous video footage of him can be found on websites all over the internet as well.
Dj Rev has also released 3 solo full length Lps that garnered him critical acclaim. “King of the Decks” was released on Duck Down records to rave reviews and attained classic status among his fans and peers. Including the coveted #1 spot on DJ Premier’s top 20 Hip Hop albums of the year. More recently Revolution started his own record label to help expose new talent to the world. ATW recordings will have its first release in February of 2016. As well as releasing his own music, he is very heavily involved in the music technology scene. Some of the biggest companies in the industry look to use his influence in the hip hop and DJ community to help introduce major products into the market.
At the end of the day, no matter how involved in the business of Hip Hop DJ Revolution becomes, he will always be most comfortable standing behind two 1200s, exposing great music to whoever would hear it while displaying his
world renowned technical abilities to manipulate sound.
